Method and example
Purchase = ceil(net area / ((brick length + joint) × (brick height + joint)) × (1 + waste / 100)). A 5 × 2 m wall, 24 × 11.5 cm brick face and 1 cm joint needs 320 bricks. Subtract 2 m² of openings: 256; add 10% waste: 282. At 0.50 each, cost is 141.
Limits and privacy
Approximate single-face area estimate. Bond pattern, wall layers, edge joints and cuts may change requirements. Mortar volume, structural capacity and code compliance are not calculated.
